Public Meeting Set for East Guelph Townhouse Development

A developer is looking to construct 28 new townhouses in the east end of the city.

Coming to city hall April 9, councillors are set to receive a rezoning application for two blocks of property — one bound by Ingram Drive, Wideman Boulevard and Victoria Road North, with the other bound by Wideman, Victoria and Simmonds Drive.

That property is currently vacant, with a mix of townhouses and single detached houses to the north, south and west of the site. Across Victoria, the land there is zoned for more townhouses, along with convenience commercial.

Along with the rezoning application — the property is currently zoned for apartments — the developer is seeking an amendment to permit smaller side yards (5.83 metres, down from six).

Those looking to speak at the meeting are asked to contact the city clerk’s office no later than April 6 at 10 a.m. You can get in touch with the clerk’s office by calling 519-837-5603 or emailing clerks@guelph.ca.

Written submissions can also be submitted to the clerk’s office, no later than 10 a.m. on April 6.
