The Task

Brand and bring to market a new community concept in Downtown Galt featuring a blend of residential, retail and event space.

The Solution

Blending the rich history of the former Southworks site with the excitement and opportunity of a modern era, Orchard unveiled The Gaslight District. The concept pays homage to Cambridge’s historic presence during the 1800’s while being transformed into a thriving hub in a revitalized urban core.

In order to bring the development to market successfully while effectively communicating the future vision of the community., Orchard worked closely with The Event Firm to create an impressive one day event to provide a glimpse of what the future holds.

Branded Day In The District, the one day free community event featured a host of local talent, vendors and artists showcasing their skills in the future Gaslight Square.

Orchard launched the Gaslight Condo Presentation Centre in tandem with the event in order to generate the most traffic. The original buildings were used to house the sales centre and showcase how the original structures will be lovingly restored.

In order to convey the conceptualization of the future Gaslight District, the take-home marketing piece was created in the form of a magazine entitled DISTRICT. The book features genuine articles and interviews with local business owners and neighbourhood attractions.  The feedback from the magazine was overwhelmingly positive and assisted in emphasizing the many phenomenal attractions and amenities that surround the future site.

The Result

With crowds at capacity and a nearly sold-out condo launch, Day in The District was an overwhelming success. Tens of thousands of patrons flocked to the event to see performances by Steven Paige, Serena Ryder and the food stylings of Chef D.

The sales staff at the Presentation Centre were flooded with interested buyers, with most suites selling out in pre-sales and the remainder getting quickly scooped up that day.

It was evident from the astonishing response that the residents of Galt are ready for the type of energy that The Gaslight District will bring to Cambridge.

With a growing waiting list, the second tower is already highly anticipated.

Orchard is thrilled to be a part of such a ground breaking development that is certain to put Cambridge on the map as a destination for ultimate urban living and entertainment.
