Design & Drafting

We pride ourselves with the quality of drawings we deliver. It is vital that our working drawings have clarity, are not cluttered (easy to read) and are complete. Once drawings are complete they are handed off to be thoroughly reviewed to reduce potential errors that will cost time and money to the project. It is our job to make sure we do our best to deliver construction drawings that are the highest of quality.

Drawing Requirements

The Government has changed the responsibility requirements to apply for Building Permits and we are required to sign drawings and also provide a Schedule 1 Designer Form. Unfortunately all Municipalities have their own set of requirements in addition to the above. In order for us to streamline our process and ensure you get the best service prior to signing drawings and preparing the Schedule 1, we require truss layouts and floor layout shop drawings (engineered floors only) as well as the site specific grading plan.

It is important for us to receive floor and truss shop drawings so that we can review girder truss locations, point loads and identify areas of increased loading to ensure our drawings are coordinated to accommodate for this.

It is important that we receive grading plans for several reasons including determining access to house from garage, exterior step, railing requirements and stepping of footings and/or foundation walls.

If we are not provided with this information there can be many instances where site issues will occur due to the lack of drawing coordination. Our job is to try and prevent this from occurring. We are as always more than happy to submit our drawings directly to the truss, floor and/or Civil Engineers to expedite the process on your behalf.

Customer Revisions

When there is a purchaser revision to be made, please refer to the Customer Revision Form.  If you have your own forms, feel free to use them.  If not, feel free to download our standard form and use it in your change request documentation.

Preparing the customer revision request sheets are critical to ensure that we fully understand the scope of work and that we in turn have the proper documentation to execute the revisions accurately, timely and as cost effective to you.

Builder's Specification Sheet

When you have a new project, a New Project (product) Specification Sheet needs to be completed prior to the design and drafting stage. These sheets should be photocopied and used whenever a new project or a change in product is requested. This will assist us with your specific building requirements to ensure the standards you request are not left open for interpretation or left up to us to assume what you are expecting.
